Nutella Cookie Dough Oats

Nutella Cookie Dough Oats

It’s rich, it's creamy, and it gives you all the satisfaction you want from a dessert.

WHY THIS RECIPE IS GREAT

This Nutella Blended Baked Oats is super easy to make and the addition of nutella is a twist that I haven’t seen in the usual tiktok baked oats. It provides the gooiest center which melts perfectly in the oven.

With 41g of protein, it’s the perfect way to round off your day with an indulgent yet filling dessert! Chocolate is the ultimate reward for putting in another shift in the daily grind.

INGREDIENTS IN NUTELLA COOKIE DOUGH OATS

OATS

Any standard rolled oats work best here.

NUTELLA

It wouldn’t be a nutella baked oats recipe without nutella. Although if you have a nut allergy or don’t have nutella, any chocolate spread will work well here.

MILK

Adds creaminess and a dose of nutrients like vitamin D and calcium. Go for whole milk if bulking, or semi-skimmed (or a dairy alternative like oat/almond milk) for a leaner macro split.

EGG & PROTEIN POWDER

Both help to bind all the ingredients together & also adds protein for the good old muscle growth! The protein powder adds more flavour richness to the "cake" element of the oats. I like to use vanilla or chocolate smooth whey protein from My Protein (no affiliation), but any protein powder of your choice will work well.

BAKING POWDER

Adds a fluffiness to the oats and also allows them to rise like a cake.

HOW TO MAKE NUTELLA COOKIE DOUGH OATS

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C.
  2. Add the oats, milk, protein powder, egg, and baking powder into a blender.
  3. Blend the ingredients until smooth (if you have time blend the dry ingredients first on their own for a smoother texture).
  4. Pour in half the blended mix into a ramekin (or oven proof dish) and then add a dollop of nutella into the centre and spread slightly to ensure it will be submerged. Then pour over the remaining half of the oats mixture.
  5. Add some extra chocolate and honey (if you can afford the calories) and cook in the oven for 12 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven after 12 minutes and enjoy the nutella cookie dough oats.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR THE BEST RESULTS

If you're using a wide, shallow dish, make sure to spread the Nutella slightly when adding it to the blended oat mix. Leaving it in a tall dollop can cause uneven baking, and you want it to be fully submerged for the best gooey centre.

For the ideal texture, eat it straight out of the oven while the centre is still warm and runny. Letting it sit too long will cause it to firm up, which takes away that melt-in-the-middle effect.

You can also customise it with extra toppings to suit your taste. Chopped nuts, honey, or an extra drizzle of Nutella all work well to add more texture and flavour.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH NUTELLA COOKIE DOUGH OATS

I’ve chosen to serve this Nutella cookie dough oats as a complete meal, as it provides a solid balance of protein, carbs, and fats to keep you full and fuelled.

All that’s left to enhance this recipe in my mind is some extra texture and flavour. You could also add or serve with:

  • Greek yoghurt
  • Frozen berries
  • Side of fruit for extra fibre
  • More chocolate

As with all of our recipes, please use this as inspiration and customise to your taste and fitness goals. The calories and macronutrient content of this recipe can be easily adapted by manipulating the amount of certain ingredients used.
